It’s 1944 and Mrs Ball of Cherry Tree Road is getting prepared for a special family Christmas.
Set within our 1944 exhibition, come and take part in our special papercraft workshop to make beautiful Christmas decorations for your home.

It’s Christmas Eve at 29, Cherry Tree Road, and Mr Ball is returning home for leave at Christmas from his service overseas. This year’s celebration is a particularly heartfelt one, as the family reunites after a significant time apart. Join us on this nostalgic journey to witness how Christmases past unfolded at such a significant time in history.
On selected dates throughout December we'll be joined by talented community choirs who will be performing festive favourites in our Remembrance Centre.

Lichfield Singers is a community choir which began as an offshoot of Lichfield Operatic Society. They perform music in many genres, from Faure and Vivaldi to Coldplay and Van Morrison.
12pm & 1.30pm | Sunday 8 December
The Heath Chorus is an all female choir of 'girls' aged from 18 to 80. In demand locally, and well known for their 'pick and mix' repertoire, their obvious love of what they do has charmed audiences and confirmed their reputation for delivering performances full of fun and packed with songs from a breath-taking variety of genres.
12.30pm & 1.30pm | Saturday 14 December
The Palace Singers is a community choir based at St Chad’s Church in Lichfield and was named after the beautiful 17th century Bishop’s Palace in Lichfield where they originally sang. They perform a wide range of music from folk songs, madrigals, contemporary music and large-scale choral pieces and are looking forward to singing a selection of carols for you at the National Memorial Arboretum.
1.30pm & 2.30pm | Sunday 15 December
Tamarisk was started in 2008 by a group of parents looking after toddlers. They began meeting and rehearsing songs whilst the children played. After their first tentative performance upstairs in a local café, they've gone on to perform in Derby Cathedral, Calke Abbey, Sudbury Hall and the Arboretum.
