The National Memorial Arboretum is open freely to all, year-round from 10am-5pm (closes at 4pm from 15 Nov), every day except Christmas Day.  

Entry to the Arboretum is free, but for everyone's comfort we are limiting the numbers onsite. We recommend pre-booking your visit to guarantee entry. You can check our latest availability and book online using the link below. 

Visitors are advised that the Coffee Shop is currently closed. Our Restaurant is open from 10am - 5pm.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

Fundraising Officer

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to join the Arboretum team, where you will help to raise awareness of our charitable status and generate income through fundraising activities. £23,800-£26,000 per annum. Application closing date: 3 October 2021.

Foodservices Team

Foodservices Assistant

Salary: £9,607.50 per annum for 20 hours per week. £19,215 FTE
Package: Permanent. 20 hours per week. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

 

We are looking to recruit a Foodservice assistant, working on average either 20 or 30 hours a week to work alongside the established team. Reporting to the Foodservices Manager, key responsibilities include:

 

  • To deliver high standards of customer service, food quality, cleanliness and presentation standards as laid out in the Foodservice Strategy.
  • Support all areas of activity within the food service department to supply visitor day catering, which includes a 380 cover Restaurant, a Coffee Shop and Satellite outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum.
  • To be part of the hospitality team for table waited functions in Aspects Events Centre. Which holds daytime and evening events catering up to and including formal banqueting for up to 500 attendees.

 

The successful candidate must have proven foodservice experience, good interpersonal and communication skills are essential together with the ability to work under pressure.

 

This role requires weekend and bank holiday working on a regular basis and some evening work to support Arboretum events.

Chef

Salary: £16,255 per annum for 30 hours per week. £21,674 FTE
Package: Permanent. 30 hours per week. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

 

 

The Arboretum is looking to recruit a Chef, to work alongside the established team. Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, key responsibilities include:

 

  • To ensure the prompt service and provision of all meals and services at the required times, as per the planned menus.
  • To adopt operational responsibility for one department/area within the kitchen (eg. Cold Prep, Sandwiches, Cakes, Hot Plate etc) as directed by the Executive Head Chef.
  • To operate within two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings (Remembrance and Aspects) to supply: visitor day catering across multiple outlets including self-serve 380 cover restaurant, table waited functions room, coffee shop, ‘pop up’ Foodservice outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum and hospitality.
  • Daytime and evening events catering up to and including formal banqueting for up to 500 attendees

 

The successful candidate must have proven Chef experience, good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Attendance outside normal working hours will occasionally be required and the ability to work under pressure will be essential.
