Remembering Afghanistan

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the end of combat operations by British Armed Forces in Afghanistan (Operation Herrick). Some 150,000 British Armed Forces personnel served in Afghanistan, and 457 lost their lives.

The Royal British Legion will host a short private Ceremony, on the Armed Forces Memorial, at 2pm. To mark the service and sacrifice of those who served in Afghanistan and Operation Herrick. 

The RBL invites those who served in Afghanistan to attend, including former and current members of the Armed Forces, their families, and civilian contractors. Places are limited and must be registered in advance.
