25 Years Of... Volunteering

Visitor Information

We look forward to welcoming visitors to the National Memorial Arboretum this Easter holiday. Please be aware that planned improvement works on the A38 at Lichfield, in place from 27 March to 8 April, may affect some visitor road travel. The Arboretum will remain open daily as normal, from 10am – 5pm, and signposted diversion routes will remain in place to support journeys impacted.

Currently, over 260 people volunteer their time at the Arboretum.

From welcoming and advising visitors, providing guided tours and walks to administration and marketing, our volunteer and staff teams work together to ensure that all of our visitors have a great experience when they visit our site.

Our volunteers are aged between 15 and 85, many of our young volunteers are using their experiences with us as they complete their Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Last year an amazing 50,000 voluntary hours were given by our volunteer team.

Corporate Volunteers

Over the last 25 years we have welcomed many local companies to our grounds to help us with projects from restaining benches, planting and memorial maintainance.

Their support helps us in our mission to ensure those who have served our country are never forgotten and that the baton of Remembrance can be passed on through the generations.

Take a look at just some of the projects corporate volunteers have helped us with recently...

In 2025, our volunteers were awarded a High Sheriff Award for their unwavering dedication.
