Visitor Announcement

Armed Forces Memorial
On Sunday 14 December the Armed Forces Memorial will be closed to all visitors from 11am - 12pm and 3pm - 4pm for the Royal British Legion’s Remembering Operations in Bosnia event.

For the safety and comfort of all our visitors, we ask that you observe the following terms and conditions of entry. Failure to comply may result in you being asked to leave the site.

Admittance
In exceptional circumstances and to manage safety, management reserves the right to refuse admission and/or to limit visitor numbers as appropriate.
Anti-Social Behaviour

The Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 defines anti-social behaviour as conduct likely to cause a nuisance or annoyance. In line with the Act, the Arboretum takes a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour, including the display of potentially offensive apparel. The emergency services will be informed if appropriate.

Ball Games
Ball games of any kind, including, but not limited to; football, tennis, bowls, cricket and Frisbee® are not permitted within the Arboretum grounds (including the parking areas).
Bicycles
The Arboretum provides a bicycle rack for storage in the car park. Bicycles (including children's balance bikes) are not permitted in the Arboretum grounds.
Bikes, Scooters, Skateboards and Roller-skates/blades
The use of all motorised (petrol and electric) and non-motorised bikes, including quad bikes, monkey bikes, mini motor bikes, go-peds, skateboards, scooters (including e-scooters) and roller skates/blades is strictly prohibited within the Arboretum grounds. Mobility scooters are excluded from this rule.
Challenge 25
We operate a Challenge 25 policy on all alcohol sales. If you are fortunate enough to look like you are under 25 years old, please be prepared to show proof of age when purchasing alcohol. We accept valid photographic driving licences, passports, cards bearing the PASS hologram, and military ID as proof of age.
Children
Children must be under the supervision of their parent or guardian at all times. Any lost children should be reported immediately to a member of the Arboretum team.
Display Materials
Unless otherwise stated in your event contract, any materials for display must be approved by the Head of Marketing, who reserves the right to refuse the display of any material. 
Dogs

We are pleased to welcome well-behaved dogs and their owners during the daytime at the Arboretum. Please ensure your dog is kept on a short lead at all times, clear-up promptly after your dog using the dog waste bins provided and manage your dog throughout your visit to be considerate of other visitors and the Remembrance that the memorials represent.

Dogs are not allowed in children's play areas, on mobility scooters, golf buggies or, on the Armed Forces Memorial and access to our indoor spaces is limited.

Working Assistance dogs are allowed throughout the site.

Drones
The use of drones at the Arboretum is not permitted.
Fires and Barbecues
Camp fires or barbecues are forbidden anywhere within the grounds of the Arboretum unless organised by the Arboretum team itself. 
Fundraising
Unless otherwise stated in an event contract, only fundraising for the Arboretum is permissible on site; this includes collections, publicity materials and canvassing for donations. 
Fireworks and Firearms
No person shall fire or discharge any firearm or missile or let off any firework in the Arboretum grounds. 
Fishing
Fishing is not permitted, unless a riparian consent exists. 
Mobility Scooters
The use of mobility scooters is permitted in the Arboretum grounds, the Remembrance Centre and Aspects. Visitors use these at their own risk and we ask for the utmost care to be taken at all times to prevent injury to others or damage to buildings and memorials. 

Visitors hiring mobility scooters from the Arboretum will be provided with with usage guidelines by a member of the Arboretum team on the day of hire. 
Life Belts
Life belts that meet BSI standards are situated along the riverbank at 50m intervals.
Merchandise
The sale of merchandise and services on site is only permitted with prior agreement from the Arboretum, and will be subject to a commission fee.
Photography and Filming
The taking of images and film footage (all methods) for personal use is permitted on site. Commercial photography and footage is subject to negotiation and a location fee, and must be arranged and authorised in advance.
Swimming/Wading/Paddling
No swimming, wading or paddling is allowed within the Arboretum.
Smoking/Vaping
Visitors are asked to be aware of other visitors' right to a smoke/vape free experience.
Vehicles

Visitors are not permitted to take vehicles on site. Any contractor, deliveries or event vehicles must comply with the site safety regulations as specified in the site induction and seek specific information on vehicle movement from either the Visitor Services or Events team.

 

Please respect our neighbours when leaving the Arboretum, especially following evening events.

Filming and Photography of Visitors
The National Memorial Arboretum reserves the right to photograph and film activities and events held on this site for use in, but not restricted to, printed marketing and promotional materials, digital communication channels including websites and social media, presentations and exhibitions. By entering the site, you give permission for your likeness to be recorded through video and still photography.
