This year’s Summer Proms welcomes the Band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, Mezzo-Soprano Louise Callinan, Baritone Rodney Earl Clarke and female a cappella quintet Black Voices to the stage, for a stunning evening of live music, set within the beautiful surroundings of our 150-acre landscape.
The programme includes Satchmo, a rousing tribute to Louis Armstrong; The Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha; music by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and toe-tapping hits from the award-winning musical The Jersey Boys – ‘ Oh What a Night’ this is going to be!
Traditional Proms favourites including Fantasia on British Sea Songs by Henry Wood and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance No.1 will round off the evening with a spectacular firework finale.
The Band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers is one of 19 bands within the Army Reserve. The Band is based in St George's Barracks, in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, and is made up of musicians from across the North-East of England.
The first Australian to be accepted into the Young Artist Program at the Opéra National de Paris, mezzo soprano Louise Callinan is also the winner of the prestigious AROP prize of Opéra National de Paris.
Rodney Earl Clarke is recognised for his versatility in performance and has performed all around the world from London’s West End to Sydney Opera House.
Fabulous all female a cappella quintet Black Voices will be taking to the stage at 7pm for a pre-concert showcase. Globally celebrated for their unique form of singing in the black oral tradition, Black Voices have performed on every continent, before royalty and presidents and have shared the stage with iconic artists including Nina Simone, Ray Charles and Miriam Makeba.

Upon arrival at the Arboretum all Premier Ticket holders will be required to exchange their ticket for a performance lanyard within the Remembrance Centre. If you're planning to arrive earlier in the day we ask that you collect your lanyard from our Welcome Desk in the Remembrance Centre upon your arrival on site. Tickets can be exchanged throughout the day from 10am.
The Aspects building and bar will open at 5pm, dinner will be served promptly at 6pm. We recommend that you arrive no later than 5.30pm ready for the evening's dinner service to allow time for your tickets to be checked.
Premier Ticket Holders will be permitted to park on Car Park A during the course of the day.
You will be prompted to book parking tickets on our online booking portal when you purchase tickets for this event. If you did not purchase a parking ticket online at the time of booing your can call 01283 245 100 to book Summer Proms parking in advance. Our swtichboard is open from 9am - 5pm each day.
It will also be possible to purchase parking tickets upon arrival at the Arboretum.
A £4 per vehicle charge will apply to all vehicles, or £6 on the day.
If you have booked parking in advance over the phone or online please have your booking reference number, and the name under which the booking was made, ready to present to our parking attendants upon arrival at the Arboretum. If your party is travelling in separate vehicles please ensure that other members of your party are made aware of your booking reference number, which can be found on your booking confirmation.
Your Summer Proms parking ticket will be valid for the course of the day should you wish to arrive earlier and explore the Arboretum.
All Premier Ticket holders will recieve complimentary parking on the day of their visit. If your party is travelling in separate vehicles please ensure that other members of your party are made aware of your booking reference number, which can be found on your booking confirmation.
Visitors who are unable to download their online Summer Proms tickets or who have booked tickets over the phone will be able to collect their wristbands on the day of the event by providing their booking reference number or surname at the Welcome Desk upon arrival at the Arboretum.
Visitors who purchase tickets online will receive an email containing a ticket download link. If you are unable to locate this email please ensure you have your booking reference number or party booking name to present when you arrive at the Arboretum.
Visitors will be issued with separate parking tickets for this event, if you have booked parking in advance, either over the phone or online, please ensure that you have your booking reference number and the name under which the booking was made, ready to present to our parking attendants.The event will go ahead in the event of inclement weather. We ask that you check the weather forecast and come prepared for the weather expected. Ponchos, umbrellas and blankets will be available to purchase from our Gift Shop in the Remembrance Centre and performance area.
We recommend that you bring an extra jumper or blanket, as this is an outdoor event and the temperature may drop in the evening.
Whilst gazebos, tents etc will not be permitted at this event umbrellas, including golf umberellas, can be used in the performance arena. Fishing umbrellas, parasols etc cannot be used in the performance arena. We ask that all of our visitors are respectful of the viewing experience of their fellow guests when using umbrellas.

The Restaurant, in the Remembrance Centre will be open until 8pm, and will be serving a variety of cold snacks and hot and cold drinks.
Food and drink will be available in the performance area during the course of the evening.
Our Premier ticket holders will be able to use our Aspects lounge during the course of the evening.
Visitors are able to bring alcohol to enjoy on the evening of this event. Glass bottles and glasses are not permitted at this event.
Chairs will only be provided for premier ticket holders on the evening.
Please do bring something to sit on such as a blanket or picnic chair. Tents, gazebos, parasols or any other items which may obstruct views for other attendees are not permitted.
Seating will be provided for all Premier Ticket holders.
There will be toilets at the event site. The toilets in our Remembrance Centre will also be open during the course of the evening.
Our Gift Shop will remain open until the beginning of Act Two.
We'll also be selling Summer Proms items including programmes, umbrellas and flags within the performance area until the start of Act Two
